Call for submissions: DEUS EX MACHINA “the first year exhibition”: • Deadline: March 17, 2011

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Thursday, March 17, 2011
Entrants will be notified no later than March 24.
Work drop off – April 1.
Show Opening – April 6.
Deus ex machina “the first year exhibition” is open to all first year/ freshman students from all majors and disciplines. The exhibit broadly explores and interprets the statement / concept, “God out of the machine” (in Latin “Deus ex machina”).

This exhibition is not only a mechanism to promote student work created, in some way, through new media, but also to bring students from all disciplines together into one arena, the Interactive Arts and Media Project Room, to showcase their work.
A limit of five (5) pieces may be submitted for consideration and work that is selected must be display ready for installation of the show.

Media guidelines for submission:

• Video: Must be a link to either a Vimeo or YouTube page (maximum run time of 6 minutes.)

• Image: jpegs only (images must be 72dpi and the dimension size does not exceed 600 pixels in either direction and under 3MB)

• Audio: mp3 no larger than 3 MB or a link to on-line source

• Text: PDF’s only (10pages Maximum.)
